Texas, Our Texas!

Today we decided to get out and enjoy this amazing weather! We went to Colorado Bend State Park, located about 1 1/2 hours from our house, in San Saba County. We hiked to Gorman Falls. On the little park sign, you know, the one that says, "You are here", it looked like an easy 3 mile round trip hike. Well, it was 3 miles. Three treacherous miles, the last part of which was almost straight down. It was totally worth the peril! The last pic in the slide show is the waterfall. Yep, I said waterfall. Right in the middle of the drought-ridden Texas hill country. Gorgeous! The river is, you guessed it, the Colorado! We had a picnic lunch of barbeque jars and fruit and then headed home, via a "Texas Stop Sign"-Dairy Queen for those who aren't familiar!
