Somebody Stop Me!
I am officially addicted to making these scarves! I have now made 12! I am taking them to Sisters and letting each of my housemates choose one. I have a feeling that I will come home with some Valorie Wells fabrics and make some more. I have to say that the ones on the far end that are made from batiks came out the best. The thinness and crispness of the fabric makes a really pretty ruffle and, as a bonus, they don't have a wrong side.

Simple Summer Scarf
I found the idea for this great scarf on one of the blogs that I recently told you guys about,
http://lollyquiltz.blogspot.com. You will need a half yard of lightweight cotton fabric, coordinating thread and some elastic thread. I had never sewn with elastic thread and my sewing machine no likey. It doesn't matter, as the thread is so gathered that you really can't see it.
Some of you may be thinking, "She is the most hot-natured person on earth, is she crazy?" No, and you will not see me wearing this in Texas before October! I am, however, going to wear it on my upcoming trip to the beautiful and cool Pacific Northwest. You can find a tutorial at http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-summer-scarf.html.

Blueberry Bender
For some reason I have been consuming an unusually large amount of blueberries. I wanted to share my two fave recipes using this fantastic berry.

http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1990026
The first one is a sherbet that is so easy. I always skip the removal of seeds and solids. You will need to floss after eating it, but you should be flossing anyway ;) The second recipe is a salad from the current of issue of Southern Living. I have now made it 3 times and I cannot stop eating it.
Finally, I plan to bake my umpteenth batch of Amish Friendship Bread this weekend and I am going to put blueberries in the batter. Yum-O!
